Small channels, real audiences.

Who is eligible

• The account is at least one hour old, so throwaway accounts cannot fill the page.
• The channel has fewer than 50 supporters.
• The channel is live right now and has a title and category set.
• The channel has not already appeared in Rising today.

How rotation works

Each day the eligible channels are ordered by a hash of the UTC date and the channel id. The order changes at midnight UTC, so a channel cannot stay pinned to the top by streaming more hours, and no amount of view count moves it. The page shows a fixed number of channels per day and rotates the rest in on following days.

What does not count

Viewer counts, stream duration and supporter totals are not used to rank Rising. A channel with three viewers and a channel with thirty are treated the same on the day they are rotated in.

Manipulation safeguards

• Supporters are one row per account, and a creator cannot support themselves.
• Support, vote, report and chat actions are rate limited per account and per IP.
• Sign-in, sign-up and moderation actions are rate limited to slow down automated networks.
• Channels with fake engagement can be removed from Rising without notice while a report is reviewed.
